Picking

The picking view is the same screen whether you got there from a pick list, from Pick on a selection of orders, or from Quick Ship. What changes is the scope and what happens when you submit.

The screen

• A close button, the order or list name, and a picked / needed counter.
• A last scan chip that tells you what the previous scan did: matched, no match, that line is already full, wrong location, or a scan step is still blocking.
• A camera scanner toggle for phones and tablets with no hardware scanner.
• A progress bar and the submit button.
• When the goods came from more than one pick list bin, a strip reading picked from N zones.

Scan steps

A warehouse can require a sequence of scans before a line counts. There are two steps, Location and Item, and each can be off, optional or required - separately for picking and for packing. Configure them under Settings → Warehouses.

When more than one step is active, a step strip shows the sequence and marks off what you have done.

• Scanning an item counts one unit. The + and - buttons do the same thing by hand.
• If the item scan is set to required, you cannot submit a line you typed a quantity into without scanning it: <sku>: item scan still required.

Required scan steps are the difference between a system that records what you picked and one that verifies it. Turn them on once your pickers are used to the flow.

Submitting

If anything is short or unpicked you get a short pick confirmation first, with the choice to go back or continue. Continuing fulfils what you actually picked and leaves the rest outstanding.

What happens next depends on how you entered the screen:

Pick only. Each order moves to handling status Packing, or the pick list is completed. Nothing is fulfilled and no shipment is booked. You pack later, from the pack queue or from the order.

Pick and pack, or packing from the queue. For each order MPH:

1. Creates the fulfilment, consuming stock FIFO.
2. Books the shipment from the order's shipping template.
3. Sends the label to your configured printer, falling back to opening it in the browser.
4. Books a prepaid return label too, if the template asks for one.

When auto-booking does not happen

The order is flagged needs manual booking instead, and you book it yourself from the order. There are three causes:

• No shipping template matches the order. Create one under Settings → Shipping templates.
• No package weight - the item has no weight and the template has no default.
• The route requires customs. A cross-border shipment needs HS codes, country of origin and an Incoterm, so it is deliberately not booked blind. Some warehouses also block customs orders from being packed at all; see Warehouses.

The result dialog

After submitting a batch you get a per-order summary: succeeded, needs manual booking, shipment failed, or fulfilment failed. If the warehouse has Always show pick summary switched off and every order booked cleanly, the dialog is skipped and you just get a toast.

The escape hatch

The ⋮ menu offers Create fulfilment, which takes you to the manual fulfilment screen so you can fulfil by hand and sort the freight out afterwards. Use it when the automation is fighting you and there is a queue building at the bench.
