Packing

The pack queue is where picked orders wait for someone to put them in a box. It is shared: several packers work the same list at once, and claiming is what keeps them out of each other's way.

What reaches the queue

An order appears in the pack queue when every pick list covering it has been picked. An order split across three zones waits for all three. If a picked order is not showing up, that is almost always why.

The header shows N waiting · M being packed, and Recently packed lists what you personally packed in the last 7 days.

The search box does two things

One box, two behaviours:

• Type to filter the queue as you go.
• Press Enter to treat what you typed as a scan. A match claims that order and opens the pack view immediately.

It is autofocused on desktop so a hardware scanner lands in it without anyone clicking first, and deliberately not autofocused on a phone, where that would pop the keyboard over the list.

Filters: status, carrier, shipping template, order type, country, zone, waiting since, and ordered at.

Claiming

• Click a row to claim it and start packing.
• Your own claim resumes where you left off. A Resume <order> button also appears in the toolbar while you hold one.
• Someone else's claim opens a takeover dialog rather than silently stealing it.
• Skip releases the order from all its pick lists and returns it to the pool untouched. Use it when you cannot find the goods, rather than leaving a claim hanging.

Pack claims are per order. This is not the same thing as a pick list claim, which is per list and held by one picker, and it has nothing to do with freight claims.

Packing an order

Claiming opens the picking view scoped to that one order, running the warehouse's packing scan steps. Confirm what physically goes in the box, then submit. That creates the fulfilment, books the shipment from the order's shipping template and sends the label to your printer.

If it cannot be booked automatically the order is flagged needs manual booking - see when auto-booking does not happen.

There is also a Create fulfilment escape hatch on the row menu, which fulfils by hand and lets you book freight separately.

Quick Ship

Quick Ship is the shortest path in the system: scan an order number, pick and pack it in one pass, done. It suits single-line orders and small operations where pick lists would be overhead.

Turn it on per warehouse under Settings → Warehouses. A Quick Ship toggle then appears on the Orders page, revealing a large scan bar and a camera button.

Scan or type an order number and you go straight into picking. Two things to know:

• The lookup runs within the filters currently applied to the orders list. If you have filtered to one warehouse, an order from another one will not be found.
• An ambiguous number reports that several orders match rather than guessing.

Quick Ship needs a shipping template that matches the order, otherwise you will pick it and then have to book the label by hand, which defeats the point.
