Bulk Shipments

A bulk shipment collects several individual shipments into one carrier handover. Instead of the carrier collecting fifty separate parcels, they collect one consolidated load with one set of paperwork.

This is a freight consolidation, not a way of printing many labels at once. If you want to book labels for a batch of orders, just pack them - see Packing.

Opening a bulk

Shipping → Bulk shipments → Create bulk shipment:

1. Choose the carrier configuration.
2. Choose the terminal the load goes to.
3. Fill in the three address blocks:
   • Sender - normally your warehouse
   • Receiver (importer) - who takes legal delivery
   • Delivery address - where the goods physically go, if it differs

Each block takes name, company, two address lines, postal code, city, country, phone, email and VAT number.

The bulk opens with status Open.

Adding shipments

While the bulk is open, shipments booked against it are added to its list. The detail page shows them with service, recipient, tracking number, status and when they were booked.

Closing a bulk

When the load is ready for collection, Close bulk shipment:

1. Enter the collection date.
2. Add a pallet row for each pallet: amount, product and weight in kilos.
3. Close.

Closing hands the consolidated manifest to the carrier and produces the handover documents. The bulk moves to Closed.

Documents

The bulk's detail page carries the documents for the whole load - the label, the CMR, and a proforma invoice where the route needs one.

Email documents sends the proforma invoice, CMR and routing label to a forwarder or customs broker, with a recipient list and a message you can check before it goes. Default recipients come from the carrier configuration. This is normally the last thing you do before the truck arrives.
