Getting Started

Ship your first order

The full path from an empty warehouse to a printed label

This walks the shortest complete path. It assumes you have finished the two setup screens described in Onboarding.

1. Get products in

Connect your store under Settings → Integrations, then sync products. The sync creates an item per product; SKUs are matched on the way in, so re-running it updates rather than duplicates.

No sales channel? Create items under Items → New, or import a CSV - the importer shows you a preview and per-row errors before anything is written.

2. Put stock on the shelf

An item with no stock cannot be picked. Under Inventory, adjust the quantity for each item you physically have. There is a short walkthrough on the Stock adjustments page. If you are receiving from a supplier instead, raise a purchase order and receive it - that books the stock for you and records what it cost.

3. Get an order in

Sync orders from your connected store, or create one under Orders → New.

Only orders placed after your go-live cutoff are imported. To pull one older order without moving the cutoff, use Test with one order.

4. Pick

Open the order and create a fulfillment. Depending on your warehouse settings you will get a pick list, a combined pick-and-pack flow, or Quick Ship for single-line orders. See Fulfillments.

Pick lists work without any pick profiles configured - everything lands in a list called "Rest" until you decide to split work by zone.

5. Pack and book

Packing confirms what physically went into the box. Booking then asks the carrier for a label. See Packing for the pack queue and a walkthrough video.

Three things must be true or booking will fail:

  • The warehouse address is complete - line 1, postal code, city and country.
  • The delivery address is complete - same fields on the order.
  • A carrier is set up - an MPH standard agreement, or your own carrier credentials.

For a cross-border shipment you also need customs data on the items: an HS code and a country of origin.

6. Print

If you have installed the print client, the label goes straight to your label printer. Otherwise MPH falls back to your browser's print dialog, which is fine for A4 but not for a label roll.

What if I have no carrier yet?

Every new account gets a built-in Manual / Pickup carrier. It produces an internal slip rather than a real waybill, so you can walk the whole flow and see how it works before any carrier account exists. It is a rehearsal, not a shipping setup - the checklist keeps pushing you toward a real agreement.
